The My Database Editor

The My Database Editor gives you access to the default data associated with your markers and to all the custom Data Categories and Data Fields you have created. All the elements that can be visualized or edited within the My Database Editor can be used to generate multiple markers or added to standard markers.

The My Database Editor

The My Maps treeview

All your maps and groups are hierarchically displayed in a tree view at the left of the My Database Editor interface.

  • To display or edit the data associated with a specific map and all its groups and subgroups, left click on the desired map name in the treeview: all the markers present in this map and all the groups and subgroups it containes are then listed in the listview to the right.
  • To display or edit or the data associated with a specific group, left click on the desired group name in the treeview: all the markers present in this group are then listed in the listview to the right.

The data listview

The data listview is the most important part of the My Database Editor: it is where you can actually add, modify or update the data corresponding to your markers. The data listview is organized in tabs, lines and columns.

The "Common" tab

The Common tab displays the list of all the markers present in the selected map or group and their basic properties: it gives you an overview of all the information associated with each marker.

The information available for each marker when the Common tab is selected are:

Name, Description, Address, Url, Url text, Email, Email text, Tags

  • To edit the content of a data field, left-click on the corresponding cell and start typing.
  • To validate the changes you have performed, press the enter key on your keyboard.
  • To navigate between cells, use the tab key and the up and down arrow keys.

The custom tabs

To each Data Category you create in the My Database dialog box corresponds a specific tab in the My Database Editor interface. Clicking on one of these custom tabs displays the list of the corresponding data fields in columns. Each line corresponds to a specific marker and the horizontal cells on each line correspond to the various data fields that can be associated with each marker.

Note: When you work with multiple Data Categories, multiple tabs are available in the My Database Editor. You only need to fill in the relevant data fields for each marker.

  • To edit the content of a data field, left-click on the corresponding cell and start typing.
  • To validate the changes you have performed, press the enter key on your keyboard.
  • To navigate between cells, use the tab key and the up and down arrow keys.
