====== The Marker Dialog Box ====== //The **New Marker** dialog box used to create a new marker and the **Edit Marker** dialog box used to modify an existing marker are identical, only their titles differ.// A marker correspondons to a point of interest or a location and is graphically represented by an **Icon** on the main **Map** and can hold different sorts of information such as texts, pictures, HTML code, etc. To create a new marker, use the **New** > **Marker...** command from the main menu: this opens the **//New Marker//** dialog box in which you can define your marker's properties. {{ wiki:c2m-011-newmarker-markerproperties.jpg?320 |The New Marker Dialog Box}} ===== Marker Properties ===== ==== Text information ==== * **Title**: Enter the Title for you new marker here. This is the default field used for search operations, so you may want to use a descriptive enough or unique title. * **Description**: The **Description** text area can hold additional information about your marker. ==== Address ==== * **Address**: If the location of your marker corresponds to a full postal address, you can enter the exact address here. * **Geocode**: Click on the **Geocode** button to convert the address entered above to its geographical coordinates. The corresponding Latitude and Longitude are then displayed in the **Coordinates** section. ==== Coordinates ==== * **Latitude**: This field is automatically filled in when you click on the **Geocode** button after entering an address in the **Address** area. You can also manually enter your marker's Latitude if you know it. * **Longitude**: This field is automatically filled in when you click on the **Geocode** button after entering an address in the **Address** area. You can also manually enter your marker's Longitude if you know it. ==== Icon ==== * **Icon**: The icon that will be used to graphically represent the new marker on the map is displayed here. * **Change Icon...**: Click on this button to open the [[Icon Set|Icon Set]] dialog box and select the icon you would like to use for the new marker. ==== Common Options ==== * **Display selected properties in default tab**: Click2Map allows you to select what should be displayed in a marker's **//Info Window//**.
